Academic Visitto Sonargaon by Level 2 Students
Anacademic visit was conducted to Sonargaon Panam City and BoroSordar Bari on 9 January 2026 for Level 2, Term 2 students as part of the ARCH 2212: Photography and Filmcourse. The visit was organized as a structured photo walk, offering students practical exposure to architectural photography within a historic built environment.
During the visit, students learned to observe and document architectural spaces through photography, with emphasis on composition, scale, perspective, light and shadow, texture, and spatial sequencing. They explored techniques for capturing heritage structures, facade details, streetscapes, and interior-exterior transitions while understanding the relationship between architecture, time, and context. The exercise also enhanced their ability to visually narrate architectural character and cultural significance through photographic documentation.
The students were accompanied and guided by Associate Professor BKS Inan (Guest Faculty), Assistant Professor Syed Abu Salaque, and Lecturer Azima Tabassum. The visit supported experiential learning by allowing students to translate theoretical knowledge from the course into applied skills through direct observation and practice in a historically significant setting.
