Architecture Department of MIST Organized a Memorial Design Competition – ‘50 years of Bangladesh’

The Architecture Department of MIST launched a month-long Memorial Design Competition – ‘50 years of Bangladesh’ on the occasion of celebrating the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the independence of Bangladesh on a virtual platform for the undergraduate Architecture students from across the country. The prize-giving ceremony of this competition was held in MIST Auditorium on 9th December 2021. 29 entries from 7 universities including MIST participated in the competition. Respected Brig-Gen Nazrul Islam, Director, Academic Wing graced the ceremony as chief guest. The juror panel comprised of Prof. Dr. Zainab Faruqui Ali from Dept. of Architecture, BRAC University; Associate Professor Sheikh Ahasanullah Mujumdar from Dept. of Architecture, BUET, and eminent architect Dr. Nurur  Rahman Khan as the respected jury members. The Head of Department Col Muhammad Romeo Nowreen Khan and Prof. Dr. Zainab Faruqui Ali delivered speeches on the occasion. The first, second, and third prize was won by Shizuka Ahmed from RUET, Lamya from MIST, and Md Safwan Islam from BRAC University.
