Celebrating Excellence in Programming: Independence Day Programming Contest 2023 Sets New Standards of Achievement and Inspiration
The tremendously successful Independence Day Programming Contest 2023 was hosted by the Department of CSE, MIST, and organized by the MIST Computer Club! On April 1, 2023, the culmination of our hard work and dedication was witnessed as 60 teams from MIST and four closely-knitted universities (BUP, BAIUST, BAUET, and BAUST) participated.
The contestants were presented with 11 problems of varying difficulty to be solved within a 5-hour time constraint. From 10 AM to 3 PM, a nail-biting competition ensued, with every team striving to surpass the others.
The Prize Giving and Closing Ceremony, skillfully anchored by Lec Raiyan Rahman, the moderator of the club, highlighted the achievements of the MCC. The welcome address was delivered by the Head of the Department of CSE and Chief Advisor of the MCC, Brig Gen Md Mahfuzul Karim Majumder. The Chief Guest of the event was Brig Gen Md Wahidul Islam, Acting Commandant of MIST and Chief Patron of the MIST Computer Club, who praised the outstanding efforts of the participants and organizers in his speech.
Prize money was awarded to the top ten teams, as well as the first solvers of each problem, recognizing their remarkable accomplishments. Additionally, a promising team from each university was presented with an award, inspiring them for further commendable results.
The Champion of the contest was declared to be MIST_BitMusketeers, consisting of Adib Hossain, Saifur Rahman, and Muhammad Samee Sevas, while MIST_EaglesEye was announced as the 1st Runner-Up. The 2nd Runner-Up position was secured by MIST_Decoders.
Congratulations are extended to all the participating teams! As this year's IDPC comes to a close, we are filled with an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment. The journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, and the participation and positive responses we have received have made it even more memorable. We eagerly anticipate hosting even bigger contests in the future, should the Almighty will it.
