AIAA International Student Conference

AIAA International Student Conference

AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics)  International Student Conference  was held from 25–26 November 2024 at Swinburne University of Technology Hawthorn, Melbourne, Australia.

This was a hybrid event offering undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to present their valuable work and projects related to Aerospace and Astronautics Industry.

A team of four members from the Aeronautical Engineering Department of MIST participated in this event virtually in " Team Category"  showcasing their project, titled "Construction of a Small Fixed Wing UAV for Surveillance,".

Passing through a rigorous 3 stage evaluation process (abstract submission, report submission, and final presentation) the team impressively secured 2nd place, competing against 47 other participants representing 12 different countries.

It is to be noted that our group of students presented their UAV named " Fixed Wing UAV for surveillance, which was also flown at the Indigenously Made UAV project showcasing arranged by the Army Aviation Gp on 12 November at Jolshiri Golf club where respected Chief of Army Staff graciously adorned the chair of the chief guest.

Endeavours of our students and faculties were highly appreciated by the judges, international community and aerospace professionals and the team would be awarded with a certificate and reward worth $300 which would be sent overseas.
